So today I wanted to share with you my three tips on how to wear athleisure looks for everyday wear. It’s no secret athleisure is one of the top current trends. And no wonder, because who the heck doesn’t want to wear something equivalent to pajamas out in public?!!! But how do you make it not LOOK like you’re in your pajamas. Well read below to find out my tips for making it work!
1. Wear slim fitting pieces. Yes, oversized can be so comfy but for a look to wear out, I recommend fitted joggers like I have on here. My sweater I’m wearing is also more fitted but a cute oversized band tee or other t-shirt would also be cute! (Just is case you’re wondering, I am wearing an XS in both pieces.)
2. Wear cute sneakers with your look. It’s all about the shoes! That means something like my Adidas I have on here. Or possibly some Nikes or whatever other brand you like. Just make sure they are classified as a casual sport shoe. So I wouldn’t pair a shoe like this that I would run in with a look like this. These, these and these are great options.
3. Wear at least one regular piece of clothing. In this look, I added in my leather jacket, a cute bag as well as my staple black watch. Styling your sweat outfit with a regular piece of clothing (by this I mean something that’s more of an everyday article of clothing) makes it look like you put the outfit together with purpose. Which even though we’re trying to look like we didn’t, we totally did. 😛 Another option would be trading out the sweater for say a sequin top or button up top like this!
