Ben was gone over the weekend for his Marine Training, and when we realized we would both be off Monday and Tuesday after he got home, I mentioned that it would be fun to go camping. It was too close to book a site so we would just have to show up and hope there was a spot. Sunday afternoon we still hadn’t decided if we were going or not, and finally at 3pm, I made the executive decision to pack up our stuff. I was pretty impressed with myself because I got everything together in like an hour. And for anyone who knows me and packing, that does NOT usually happen for me.😜
Ben was still in San Diego so we decided to just meet at the campsite at San Onofre Bluffs because it was on his way home. I was so excited when I pulled in, and the ranger told me there were tons of spots. (We tried once before and had to go all the way home because there was nothing available.) So after I picked a spot, I went to get us dinner at Pedro’s. If you are ever in San Clemente and haven’t tried it yet, they have THE best fish tacos ever!
Soon after, Ben met me and we set up camp. We had THE best time. We had a campfire and chatted about life and unplugged. (Aka service was kinda crappy, and we only had car chargers and couldn’t leave the cars on. 😜) It actually was so nice to not be on our phones and just be with each other. The next day we spent the whole day at the beach in and out of the water and then went to get ice cream before we came back to watch the sunset and have another bonfire. It really was so great, and I think we’re getting good at being more adventurous and doing fun stuff!
