Hello ladies, and happy Monday! Thank you so much to everyone who has entered the Nordstrom Giveaway so far! And if you haven’t yet, well head to my Instagram, and DO it! I seriously wish I could enter. My hubby joked about entering and winning so he could give it to me (don’t worry; he didn’t! 😛 ) I hope you all had the best holiday weekend! I can’t believe Christmas came and went, and it’s almost New Year’s! I still don’t know what I’m doing yet. My hubby has to work New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day so I’m trying to figure out something fun to do. I did just get super inspired to do some painting and redecorating in our bedroom though so maybe I’ll be ringing in the New Year with a can of paint!
So in today’s post, I am wearing a very very special necklace from 31 Bits. It was HAND MADE by women in Uganda with “bits” of paper. This organization was started by a group of college girls who wanted to teach the women of Uganda how they could use their skills and creativity to provide for themselves. They wanted to teach them how to be a Proverbs 31 woman. (If you’re not familiar with that term, you can read Proverbs 31. It means a woman who can care for herself and her family and is respected everywhere she goes. What we all want to be!) And that’s where the “31” part of the name comes in. I seriously love love love stuff like this! It makes my heart happy to know that every time I wear this necklace, I am part of something bigger than myself. And it doesn’t hurt that this necklace is crazy cute and unique! Head on over to the 31 Bits site to learn more.
I love how fitting this post with 31 Bits is to coincide with Dressember! This is exactly the kind of thing we would want to see women having the choice to do to provide for themsevles so they dont’ have to sell their bodies. Also, in case you are wondering, I am wearing a dress under my sweater and skirt. The skirt is completely sheer, and if you look closely, you should be able to see it! (For all my fellow rule followers out there 😛 )
Thank you all for reading! You following along means so much! I’d love to hear what else you want to see on my blog! P.S. Don’t forget to check out my hair tutorial below!
xoxox,
Christine
